中国当代艺术家堪称当代文化建设的功臣。近三十年的努力与奋斗，中国当代艺术家以其独一无二的充满本土特色与时代风貌的作品走向世界，提升了中国当代文化的国际地位，为华人争光，谱写了一段令前辈们无法梦想的光彩夺目的历史。
“当代艺术家写真展”正是对中国当代艺术家的礼赞。
作者徐聚一因主编《艺术跟踪》之便，一直对中国当代艺术家进行跟踪拍摄。几年下来留存了数十万张图片。“当代艺术家写真展”所呈，即为从中挑选而得。
徐聚一作为有着丰富视觉经验的综合艺术家，本来就对艺术家的工作与生活状态有着深切的了解，更因为彼此熟知，他得以深入到艺术家们的工作乃至生活中，从而超越“专业”摄影的局限，任意捕捉，随心抓拍，精彩瞬间俯拾皆是。徐聚一的作品，整体、全面、真实地再现了当代艺术家们的风采，所以也得到了当代艺术家们的一致认可。
“当代艺术家写真展”的另一亮点，是艺术家们在其中一张照片上添画，留下各自独有的艺术符号和风貌。这也赋予展名中“写真”二字特别的含义：在认识艺术家的同时也认识他的艺术。
“当代艺术家写真展”同时出版五百多页的图录，这也将是一份重要的关于中国当代艺术家的图像资料。

Chinese contemporary artists have made great contribution to the contemporary culture. Another highlight at "Photo Exhibition of Contemporary Artists", the artists have involved in creating their unique symbol and style on the photos. to illustrate the particular meaning of "Photo Album": the audience is able to recognize the artists and their arts.
Simultaneously a nearly 500 pages pictorial catalogue "Photo Exhibition of Contemporary Artists" has published. The catalogue definitely is an important pictorial data of Chinese contemporary artists.
