郎静山,浙江兰溪人。十四岁即爱好摄影。一九二八年至一九三七年据任《海时报》摄影记者，成为中国新闻史上的第一位摄影记者。郎静山一生致力推动摄影活动与教育，曾发起组织许多艺术团体，如一九二八年的〈中国摄影学社〉。—九四八年的〈中国摄影学会〉、一九六三至八七年的〈中华民国国际摄影展〉及一九六六年〈亚洲影艺协会〉。一九三O在上海松江女子十中学开设摄影科，开创中国摄影教育的先河。其后曾任敦于北一女子中学、台湾国立艺术学院及台北文化大学。他曾入选参展世界各国摄影展览的作品近千余件，更被二十余个世界级摄影学会和团体推举为名誉禽员和研究员；著作有个人摄影集和中焖摄影史。郎静山将中国绘画艺术理念与传统美学融人现代摄影技术，创造出郎氏风格〈集锦摄影〉。

Born in Langxi, Zhejiang Province, Lang Jingshan's fascination with photography began as a teenager. He became a prominent Chinese photographer who made immense contributions to promoting photography education in China. Lang established the Asia Association of Photography, the ROC International Photography Exhibition, and the Photography Society of China. He worked as a photojournalist for Shanghai Eastern Times from 1928-1937 establishing him as the first photoiournalist in China. A pioneer in the education of modern photography in China, Lang taught photography at Shanghai's Songjiang Girls High School in 1930. Lang Jingshan was a master at creating photomontage. His work skillfully captures the essence and aesthetics of traditional Chinese painting through modern photographic technique. During his life, Lang participated in more than 1,000 exhibitions due to his life-long passion and devotion to photography. He received honorary memberships and fellowships to more than twenty prominent national and international photography associations.
