"The Producers," "Guys and Dolls," "Hairspray," "A Christmas Carol" and "Cabaret." None of these Broadway shows would have been the spectacle it was without dazzling costumes designed by William Ivey Long. For the next few months this five-time Tony Award winner -- most recently for "Grey Gardens" this year -- is being celebrated in his home state. On display are original sketches, some of the actual costumes and accessories -- including the scandalous black lace body suit Anita Morris wore as Carla, the mistress, in "Nine" (see photo) -- and film clips of the artist in action. Given that Mr. Long has designed everything from demure, tailored garments for his sophisticated leading ladies to outlandish numbers for the most wayward characters, visitors will likely find the exhibition aptly titled. -- Mary Campbell
