当大多人们迷惑于传统摄影技艺在当代摄影中无足轻重的地位时,必将视线转移到摄影本体所传达的观念上。对于70后一代年轻艺术家他们不同于上一代经历坎坷,他们没有强烈的历史使命感和对抗意识形态的愿望,在物资极为丰富年代,他们是蜜罐的孩子。但是当他们走出学校个最后的象牙塔,没有了家庭精心呵护,这熟悉的周遭越发残酷而陌生。他们倔强而敏感,他们发现在社会中有无尽的压力和残酷的竞争,再也无法像上一辈一样有了稳定工作就可以安稳度过一生。大多数年轻人发现无法在精神上得到来自长辈的慰籍,也无法从同辈中得到更多的支持,迷惘是他们的共性。在面对未知的前途时,对于自我的寻找也许是精神唯一支撑,当然这个过程充满着迷惘、无助并缺乏安全感,于是大多数70后艺术家选择美好回忆以及对当下物质社会的批判来完成创作。因为这一代年轻人最强烈的幸福感便是源于对于动画片、糖果和衣食无忧的童年回忆。
李悦的摄影作品却是在尝试对于展现年轻人当下状态,这看似在展现一种个人体验,但却是一代人共同体验,在互联网和即时通讯高速发达的今天,在被强大信息源包围同时形成了看似强大的幸福感,但这些虚拟幸福感在面对艰难的就业问题、解决居住和提高生活质量等现实生活时很容易就被击碎了。正如他作品中呈现的一样很多时侯人就象是从飞机上被迫推下的伞兵,你只是这个群体里一个模具,你不知在何时何地跳下,而面对你的也是一个看似熟悉但是完全陌生的环境。如果你对降落伞完全不懂或业务不熟练你只有面对死亡,即便你安全降落,但是面对着陌生环境,也许你孤身一人,也许你有一群同样竞争者,生存问题直面着你。这一代人就是这样被推到社会中,这便是你生命必经的轨迹。在大多数70后艺术家沉浸在甜美的糖果色的童年回忆中,开始自我寻找和精神反思变的弥足珍贵,而这看似个人体验的精神寻找其实是对一代人当下现状的精神反思。
While many people are fascinated with traditional photographical technique in playing the indispensable role of contemporary photography, there must be a focus shifted to the concept delivered by photography itself. For the young artists of post 70’s, they experience totally different life from their previous generation, who fail to possess the strong historical mission and anti-ideology spirit. Under such abundant material condition, they are the generation who grew up in the honey pot. However, when they left the school, the last pyramid in life, without family’s considerate care, the familiar surroundings become fierce and strange. They are sensitive and stubborn, while they feel boring for the endless pressure and cruel competition in this social world, no longer like their previous generation who enjoyed a permanent yet stable work to live with. Most of young people are not able to obtain the comfort from the older generation spiritually, neither to receive any more support from the contemporary. It results in the frustration as their common sense. Facing the uncertain future, seeking the selfness is probably the only fulcrum to them in spirit. Nevertheless, the process is full of helplessness, perplexity and lacking of security. Therefore, most of post 70’s artists choose to complete their creation by memorizing the beautiful past, as well as criticizing the current materialized world, since the young generation is extremely satisfied with the cartoon network, candy and unworried childhood times.
Under such circumstance, Li Yue tries to express the present situation of young people with his camera. It seems like disclosing a person’s experience, but more a common sense of this generation. In today’s information & speedy development times, the enormous happiness looks like a siege by the gigantic information source, but the fictional happiness could be easily broken up by the fierce employment, residential settlement and raising life standard etc. Li Yue’s photography works are a kind of spiritual seeking and self-contemplation to those post 70’s young artists, who used to live in a beautiful childhood memories in a special social circumstance.
