叶锦添简介

叶锦添简介 1986年参与吴宇森导演之电影《英雄本色》始，与他合作过的中港台著名导演包括陈凯歌、张艺谋、李安、蔡明亮、田壮壮、李少红、关锦鹏及陈国富等。舞台作品包括亚洲多个重要表演团体如《云门舞集》、《城市当代舞团》、《当代传奇》、《汉唐乐府》等等。

1996年开始受邀参与欧洲演出包括奥地利的格拉兹歌剧院《罗生门》、《崔斯坦与伊索克》、法国巴黎小艇歌剧院、荷兰皇家剧院等担任服装及舞台设计，其作品经常出现在欧美各个重要的表演艺术节，包括法国亚维农艺术节和里昂双年舞蹈节，巴黎夏佑剧院等等，受到极大的回响。

2001年，叶锦添凭电影《卧虎藏龙》首次荣获奥斯卡金像奖及英国电影金像奖双项入围，刷新了国际记录，并获得奥斯卡金像奖最佳艺术指导及英国电影金像奖最佳服装设计，为首位华人得到以上的殊荣。

叶锦添近年的艺术创作表现出不同形式及不同场景的东方美学，在多次的大型国际展览中，得到广泛的体现，包括2002年于台北故宫博物院举行首个服装特展《时代的容颜》以及荷兰皇家歌剧院（新古典主义）《Neoclassicism-The Art of Yip Kam Tim》；2003年法国波席文化中心 Maison de la Culture de Bourges四十周年纪念，举行名为（红-叶锦添之艺术）《Rouge - The Art of Tim Yip》，展出作品含盖了叶氏创作的所有领域，为首位中国艺术家受邀在当地做全面的展示；此外2004年于西班牙马德里的Centro Cultural Conde Duque of Madrid City Hall举行名为《The World of Tim Yip: Visions and Creation》之特展等等，已在西方世界建立了他所诠释的东方艺术之美。最近一次参展为2005年纽约《International Asian Art Fair》以及华府甘乃迪艺术中心《Festival of China》。

叶锦添近年亦跨入文学领域，出版大量作品，包括法国版《Rouge - The Art of Tim Yip》、《繁花》、《中容》、《迷色》及《蓝色》一系列创作性小说及摄影集等等。

叶锦添的作品不但结合了现代与古典的艺术形式，他的成就得到国际的地位与认同。叶锦添工作室也参与了不同类型的国际性与文化性创作，包括2004年雅典奥运闭幕礼的授旗仪式。叶锦添可谓是华人界近代最具有代表性的视觉艺术大师，他出色的电影及舞台剧创作，为他在两岸三地甚至是世界都获得无数肯定。叶锦添的创意，让他和华人世界重量级导演李安、张艺谋、蔡明亮及诺贝尔文学奖得主高行健等人都有个愉快的合作经验。他和名导冯小刚合作的史电影「夜宴」已在2006年九月在华人地区同时上映，目前他也再度投入电影工作，参与吴宇森导演筹备多年的「赤壁」。

TIM YIP

Born in Hong Kong and trained as a professional photographer, Tim Yip began his artistic career in film with Director John Woo’s A Better Tomorrow in 1986. Over the past decades, he has been involved with costume design and art direction of many movies and theatrical performances, collaborating with prominent directors from Hong Kong, Taiwan and China, including Chen Kaige, Ang Lee, Tsai Ming-Liang, Zhang Yimou, Tian Zhuang Zhuang, Feng Xiao-Gang, Li Shao Hong, Clara Law, Stanley Kwan and Chen Kuo-Fu.

Best known for his work in Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, Tim Yip garnered two Academy Award? nominations for best art direction and costume design in 2000. He was subsequently awarded the Academy Award ? for Best Art Direction as well as Best Costume Design by the British Academy of Films. The unprecedented success of the film has brought him immediate international recognition.

Tim’s newest works for the screen includes The Banquet starring Zhang Ziyi released Asia wide in September 2006. Tim’s artistic work for the stage includes collaborations with prominent figures such as composer Tan Dun, Lin Hwai-Min of the Cloud Gate Dance Theatre, Nobel Prize literature laureate Gao Xing-Jian amongst others. Tim’s most recent movie project, Red Cliff, currently under development with John Woo directing, will bring to the screen one of China’s most legendary war epics.

In 2004, his costume designs for over 270 dancers and acrobats in a dazzling 8 minute performance choreographed by director Zhang Yimou for the handover to the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games also placed him in the international limelight at the Games’ closing ceremony in Athens.

Tim’s works merge modern and classic art forms for various disciplines, and he continues to explore new combinations of art and film, experimenting with photography, fashion, painting, and writing to expand his creative sensibilities and examine new aesthetic possibilities.
